The opening of the meeting turned out to be very tense and the teams were level for a long time. Plus, Chinese Jinyin Zhang scored the final goal – 13:9 in favor of the guests. Despite the abundance of errors on the serve (9), Zenit caught up with the opponent with an ace performed by Roman Romanovsky – 21:21. After Zhang's mistake in the attack, the Kazan team had a setball, but then the Chinese dispersed and the Belgorod team was already one step ahead. At 31:31, Al Khachdadi scored a spectacular goal, and in the next draw, Kazan offensively touched the net.
Already with the score 1-4 in the second set, Verbov had to take a timeout to knock down Zhang's serve. This move helped turn the tide of the game. Zenit quickly recouped, and then led 8:5 after bright actions in the attack of Labinsky and Volkov – 8:5. In the end, the hosts of the site came in with a comfortable advantage of +4 (19:15), but mistakes in the attack of Kletz and Volkov, along with a counterattack and ace Al Khachdadi, escalated the fight again – 19:19. Stanislav Masliev came on as a great substitute for Belogorye – he managed an ace with a pitch to Labinsky (22:21). Like the first game, Zenit got into the net at the wrong time and Al Khachdadi immediately realized the netball, scoring a heavy ball on a triple block.
Roman Romanovsky did not change with Artyom Volvich after the submission. In addition, Sam Deru came out for Zenit's third game instead of Labinsky. Soon, the situation for Zenit became critical: Volkov first failed to cope with the cannon feed, and then attacked twice in the out – 17:21. The parade of errors with a blow in the out continued Kletz – 18:23.
