The head coach of Samotlor, Valery Pyaskovsky, fielded the usual squad, opting for the binder Denis Tolok, who was a substitute for Mikey Christenson in Kazan last season. Four blocks, including two from Stanislav Kassel, allowed Samotlor to take the lead at the beginning of the second game – 7:6. Kazan took break points thanks to aces. Kletz, Mikhail Labinsky, Surmachevsky and Shcherbinin scored from the pitch – 13:12. A series of mistakes in the attack by Alexander Militsky and Nikkel violated equality (17:14), and another ace by Labinsky made Zenit's advantage large – 20:15. The guests were let down by numerous mistakes of their own on serve (7) and in attack (3).
Zenit took a 3-0 lead in the third set after two aces by Surmachevsky, but the Waratahs quickly recouped due to defense and block (4-4). But Kazan continued the bombardment: twice libero Herman Mellis knocked out the Kletz reception – 8:4. The time-out of "Samotlor" did not knock down the diagonal Zenit from the pitch – he tortured his rivals with cannon shots. Labinsky closed Nikkel's block and twice more the diagonal of the guests stepped in during the attack – 13:4. He came on as a substitute and immediately made ace Khlyakin – 17:7. For him, this point was the first in the super league. It took Zenit only 65 minutes to win.
