There was a full house at Zvezdny that evening – two thousand fans came to support FAKEL in the match against Zenit St. Petersburg. And he was really good that evening, keeping his highest level. But his efforts were still not enough to win the guests – the Novourengoy team tuned in to this match as much as possible and played like one fine-tuned mechanism.
The first game began with a tense struggle and swings – the break advantage passed from one team to the other, and until the very end the game did not reveal the leader – 20:20. Tikhonov, who came on as a substitute, made an ace with the first touch, bringing Zenit another "plus 2", but the Yamal team managed to equalize the score again, and then Dineikin managed to serve through, and at 22:23 the guest coach Sergio Buzatto took a timeout. After the break, Zenit got another point from the pitch through Babkevich's efforts, but the TORCH took the tense ending anyway - Enns finished off Andreev's save to the floor – 28:26.

Enns and Dinakin were reliable at the end of the game, and Morozov put a beautiful point in the set with a straight serve - 25:17.
For the third set, Zenit had Andrei Titich in the starting lineup, replacing Fedor Voronkov. But the Yamal team broke away from the very first draws – 8:4. However, the guests rushed in pursuit: Zenit's game began to be built exclusively through Babkevich, and this bore fruit – the diagonal finished off to the floor again and again, and then scored an ace, and now Zenit had a break advantage – 14:12, which I saved by the end – 20:18. Through Dinakin's efforts in attack, the Novourengoy team remained in the game, but the outcome of the set was decided by Titich's strike - 25:22
The fourth set was as similar as possible to the first – the same intensity of the struggle, when no one wanted to give up the thread of the game without a fight. After an equal start to the game, Vyshnikov served through twice, and Babkevich sent the ball out – 9:6 in favor of FAKEL. But the guests quickly organized a chase, catching Enns twice with a block, and now equality is back on the scoreboard – 13:13. The second half of the game passed in segments – the Yamal team gained the advantage several times, but the Zenit team compared the score again and again. But when Kosmin made a mistake on serve, and Dinakin scored a labor goal, FAKEL still celebrated victory in this difficult, but very important confrontation.
