There was a big volleyball day in Tula on March 31. First, Tulitsa played the playoff match with Dynamo Ak Bars, and after that Belogorie played the first game of the quarterfinals with Kuzbass.
Belgorod players played the last match of the championship two weeks ago, but it was not noticeable at all at their game. Captain Alexander Markin could not play for Kuzbass, and Kirill Fialkovsky replaced him in the final game.
Ace Slavi Kostadinov put the guests ahead – 2:3, but it was the only pleasant moment in the game for the Kemerovo team. Pavel Tetyukhin's block on Fialkovsky had already switched the score in favor of the hosts, and when Mohamed Al Khachdadi closed Roman Pakshin, Belgorod got "+2" - 8:6. Then they only increased the advantage: 11:8 after hitting the Kuzbass striker out, 15:11 after Sergei Chervyakov's block on the Kemerovo diagonal, 18:13 – ace Al Khachdadi. Belogorye played productively on the block, which closed the set – 25:16, and in defense, and Roman Poroshin unleashed his club's attack at 70%.
The second set started with 2:5. Belogorie quickly restored equality, but Kuzbass was completely different from the team that failed in the first game. Pakshin continued to score points, with Dusan Petkovich and Alexey Lobyzenko helping him. The mistakes of the hosts also became a plus for the guests. Kuzbass played cleanly and launched an attack. But the Lions were doing even better offensively, which hid the problems with ineligibility. It was worth Belogorie finally to lead the score - 15:14, as two aces of Petkovich again gave the guests a small lead – 15:17. At 17:19, Georgy Zabolotnikov once again distinguished himself in attack, and then held the serve, and after the ball Al Khachdadi, Tetyukhin and Poroshin took turns closing Petkovich and Pakshin – 21:19. Roman Bragin's excellent defensive play helped to organize a counterattack, and the diagonal "lviv" led the team to setballs, the first of which was decided by the captain with an ace – 25:21.
In the third set, the placement of Chervyakov's serve became a nightmare for the guests. From the score of 8:7, Belogorie went to 14:7, leaving the Kuzbass coach without timeouts in this game segment. The Lions had practically nothing falling from the opponent cleanly into the court, and the Belgorod residents themselves had no problems in attack. Kuzbass had little success, and Belogorie unexpectedly quickly completed this game and the match – 25:12 and 3:0.
Mohamed Al Khachdadi scored 21 points, Pavel Tetyukhin – 11, Georgy Zabolotnikov and Jinyin Zhang – 9 each. Kuzbass had 11 points on Roman Pakshin's account, Dusan Petkovic scored 10.
