The 2004-05 Gophers were one of the Big Ten’s biggest surprises. Coming off a 3-13 conference finish the year before, the Gophers surged to 21 victories and an NCAA Tournament berth under head coach Dan Monson.
One of Minnesota’s stars that season was junior college transfer Vincent Grier. Grier became the last Gopher to score 30 points or more in back-to-back contests when he notched 32 against Wisconsin on February 5th and did the same against Northwestern four days later.
Vincent Grier’s back-to-back 30-point efforts in 2005 are today’s Land O’Lakes Great Moment in Gopher History.
