On Wednesday, Nizhny Novgorod volleyball players played the final match of 2023 at their home ground. The rival of ASK was the Dynamo-LO team from Sosnovy Bor, which is now one of the six strongest teams in the championship. The most productive player of the team, Serbian player Marko Ivovic, was absent from the guests.
At the beginning of the meeting, the guests created a slight 9:7 advantage for themselves, but after winning the ball on the block from Dynamo-LO, the Bulgarian player Todor Skrimov went to serve, who with his powerful serve put his team ahead 12:9, including marking the first ace in the match. After that, on the serves of the former Nizhny Novgorod player blocking Artem Dovgan, the sosnovobortsy continued to score points, increasing their advantage to 15:10. It was this advantage, as well as an excellent game on the block (6 closed attacks per set), that allowed Alexander Klimkin's wards to take the first game 25:19.
In the second and third sets, Nizhny Novgorod coach Andrey Dranishnikov tried to bring changes to the game of his players with the help of substitutions, releasing Nizhny Novgorod's finishing player Klim Mozzhukhin, as well as making a pair substitution binder-diagonal. But it did not bring any result. Dynamo-LO had an excellent performance throughout the match, captain Denis Biryukov, who implemented 50% of attacks (11 out of 22) and made only one mistake in attack during the entire meeting. But the main weapon of the guests at the end of the whole match was the work on the net. Dynamo covered almost every fifth attack of the ASK with a block, earning as many as 17 points with this element (Nizhny Novgorod had only 6 effective blocks).
