The St. Petersburg team arrived in Surgut in a truncated squad, but it was enough to win. Fyodor Voronkov carried the attack, Timofey Tikhonov lit the pitch, and Semyon Krivitchenko cemented the defense and reception – so much so that no one remembered about the absence of Zhenya Grebennikov. Dmitry Kurbatov returned to the home team, and the shortage of players led to the appearance of Nikita Alekseev in this role during the match.
In the opening set, the hosts' brisk start (9:6 after two blocks to Voronkov) turned around at 16:18. That's how the teams came to the end – the guests are one step closer to victory. In the third game, Rodichev is unstoppable, the block reminds Zheleznyakov, who returned to the court, of the first set – 9:6. And just like in the first game, the guests catch up, 9:9. Rodichev rolls an emergency ball into the cauldron on experience, 16:16, but in the next difficult situation he hits out, 16:18. Rudnev, who came out to serve, knocks the opponent out of the reception, he works out in defense, completes the case block Zheleznyakov, 19:18. The hosts have a chance to finish the game again, but Zenit copes, and then Tikhonov comes out and gives a series with an ace, which not only decides the outcome of the game, but also, perhaps, the entire match. The hosts respond with an effective series performed by Kirillov, which is also "closed" by ace, 20:22. But that's all: Kobzar throws off, Voronkov's feed through the cable leads to a freeball and Zheleznyakov's attack, another knocked–out reception - and Krsmanovich fails to cope with an emergency attack.
