Kim Zmeskal Burdette is a true legend in the sport of gymnastics. The 1991 World All Around Champion was the first in a long line of standout Americans who have gone on to capture gold on the world stage. Trained by the Karolyis, Kim grew up watching Mary Lou Retton, Kristie Phillips and Phoebe Mills every day in the gym. Soon enough, she developed her own signature style of power and panache with an impressive resume of her own. We recent spoke to Kim regarding her numerous accomplishments, injuries, disappointments, comebacks and the Olympic prospects of her own rising pupils.
