Here’s one of the most notable poems by w h auden written during “the age of anxiety” when the world war 2 started. It was first published in The New Republic on 18th september 1939. Later on it was included in a book “Another Time” (1940).

W H Auden is famously known as “The spiritual physician” of his generation which included other notable writers such as Louis McNiece, Stephen Spender, Cecil Day Lewis. These “Poets of the 1930’s” were also known as “Pink poets” or “The Auden Generation”.
