A nice feature of the new season for Omitchka was the holding of themed home matches. The game with Dynamo-Metar was timed to coincide with Mother's Day, which will be celebrated on the upcoming Sunday. In honor of this event, their mothers came to support the Omsk volleyball players. They also recorded touching video messages to their beloved daughters.
Perhaps the support of their mothers gave the Omitchka players additional motivation, and they showed the seriousness of their intentions from the very beginning of the match. The guests' headaches were caused by the quick attacks of the setters Madeline Guillen and Natalia Krotkova. Zarina Vositova and Amalia Gorbatyuk confidently and, most importantly, effectively came in for the first set. As a result, Alexander Koshkin's team won the first two sets without much fuss, with scores of 25:19 and 25:18.
However, the third set was won by the Chelyabinsk team. The guests added activity in the block play, where Elizaveta Dikikh, a graduate of Omsk volleyball who is playing her second season in Chelyabinsk, stood out. Although Omsk tried to catch up with their opponents, Dynamo-Metar remained in the game, with a score of 19:25.
In the fourth set, Omsk regained control of the game. We couldn't get a significant lead, but a 3-4 point advantage was enough for a comfortable game. As a result, we won 25-21 in this game segment and overall 3-1 in the match.
