The #14 Gophers squared off against Big Ten rival and #23 Northwestern this past weekend at Jane Sage Cowles. It was a slug fest seeing 44 runs scored in total. In game one Minnesota fell 13-9 but rebounded to win the next two games 13-5 (6) and 3-1.
In game one Sara Moulton broke Minnesota's all-time career strike out record (1,123) held by current pitching coach, Piper Ritter.
Freshman, Sara Groenewegen collected both victories for the Gophers and remained perfect at 11-0.
The team improved to 32-6 overall and 10-3 in Big Ten play.
