Brent Gates Jr. scored twice in the third period, Eric Schierhorn set a new career-high for saves for the second game in a row and the Gophers put a season-high 42 shots on goal but it wasn't enough as Minnesota fell to No. 14/15 Penn State 3-2 in overtime on Friday night at Pegula Ice Arena.
