You asked for it, and here it is: A montage of Final Smashes for every character in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, including every DLC character!

Final Smashes may be powerful, but they require finesse, technique, timing, and strategy to execute, and in each of these videos, you will see them at their finest. In this video, you will see the devastating results of when each of these Final Smashes are used in the environment they're in and against the opponents they have. With their overwhelming power, but only when used correctly, is it a surprise at all that the Smash Ball has become the symbol of the entire series?

Of course, used poorly, Final Smashes can then become quite the liability, causnig you to waste time fruitlessly or even KO yourself. In some of these cases, though, the FInal Smash user was simply unlucky or got outmaneuvered. In most of these cases, however, the player banked on the Final Smash doing most of the heavy lifting, when that is simply not the case. It goes to show that, no, it's simply a stereotype that Final Smashes just KO everyone in sight--you have to learn how to use it right. Well, in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS, at least, where they were nerfed pretty heavily.
