Life in the Arab world(s) is never a bed of roses. However, directors continue to make films despite the surrounding uncertainty. Does their incredible resilience and refusal to give up give them an advantage in film making? Going against the odds, how do they manage to reach out to other people and overcome the hardships of daily life? Some of our guests this week know a little about this already.

- Yaël Perlov, a documentary film maker and producer of the series, “Sport”, which is part of the official selection at the Rome Film Festival in 2015, and at the Cinemed Festival in Montpellier, France, on the 26 October 2015, as well as the Proche-Orient (Middle East) film festival from 20-29 November 2015 at Les Trois Luxembourg cinema in Paris
- Aziz Sahmoui, a singer who has written the album, “Mazal”, and will be on tour at the World Music Festival on 5 November in Aubervilliers, France, and at the Moods! Festival on 14 November in Zurich, Switzerland
