Not going to lie... I have no idea how I came across this series! It's not on Canadian Netflix and it's not exactly the type of thing I'd usually watch. And actually, it's really silly in many aspects! Tons of fanservice and every trope in the book. Still, there's something that's just a little endearing about watching the two main characters interact with each other.

Having kept up with the series definitely made it easier to write lyrics for the song. In the anime, Milinda is basically an enhanced/engineered human who is able to pilot a superweapon. Because of this, she fights all the battles in the war against other nations and everybody else just sits back and watches. The song really plays into this theme, as she is at the same time set above all the others but also isolated. In the end, it takes someone with an observant heart to notice the suffering that she goes through.

The song was very hard to sing though. It's not my usual style, that's for sure, and took dozens of takes for each line. However, in the end, I'm quite happy with how it turned out. The harmonies were particularly fun to sing, although I tried not to make them too overpowering.
