Italy seized the opportunity presented to them and brought down France in five sets at the 2021 FIVB Men's Volleyball Nations League.

Antoine Brizard (France): "It was a tough game, Italy played well. They made a difference with their serving, as we struggled in reception and it was hard to stop them. We are also struggling physically because we are working hard for the Olympics, so they had an opportunity and they used it. It was a good game for them."

Gabriele Nelli (Italy): "It was a really good match and we are very happy about this victory. We stayed focused and we played a really good match with a powerful team on a very high level. Our service was our main weapon against France, but we also performed really well in the block. Victory over France is even more important, because it's like a derby for us and we always want to beat them."
